Hawks Netball Club Senior training is on a Wednesday evening at St Ives Outdoor Centre from 7.30-9.00pm. A ‘coaches clinic’ will run from 7.00-7.30pm to focus on specific elements for both coaches and players, should any members want to come along to work on their personal skills or shooting practice before Club training starts at 7.30pm.

Training is run by certified coaches and combines elements of fitness with specific netball-related skills and drills. We have regular guest coaches including a wonderful Solo Sessions ran by Sasha Corbin, Hawks founder Helen Stepney, Strength and Conditioning with PT Emily Jelley and some of our other club coaches. We are also are looking to develop further coaches and umpires within the club with mentoring and support available for those members looking to get more involved.

Matches are an integral part of each training session with regular match play evenings, coached match play and friendlies against other local clubs to provide additional opportunities to develop whole court and team strategies. Competitive matches are played on weekends and Thursday evenings during the winter season and weekday evenings during summer season.

Winter league is the most competitive season running from around September to Easter we will have 3 teams playing in CDNL League. After recent promotions we will have 2 teams in Division 2, and 1 in Division 4, as well as two teams in the Fenland Winter League. Divisions provide competitive matches for all abilities with players being named to a team at the start of the season. We provide the opportunity to ‘play-up’ in a higher division where needed to help with personal development and to support the club as a whole.

Summer leagues is more friendly in nature, with teams being placed in groups depending on their winter league results. We entered 2 teams for CDNL Summer 2024 and a finished 4th in Division A and winners of Division D. Which with very competitive games was a fantastic result. For 2024 we had one team in the Fenland summer league which is a mixture of our seniors, finishing joint 2nd on points, placing 3rd on goal difference in Division A. We also entered 2 teams in the new NCNL League at Hinchingbrooke School. Finishing 5th in Division 1 with some very tough games against Prem and Regional opposition, and 1st in Division 2 which is an absolutely wonderful result against some very competitive teams.

We have league, club and mixed tournaments are played throughout the year, and along with KC Cup and charity matches which are a great opportunity to play against different teams and with different team mates, to build on skills, fitness….and generally have a lot of fun.
