Awards winner – Captain of the year 2023 – Jenny Russell

This award is for the Captain who finished highest in their division. This year it was a close race between Hawks 1 Captain Sophie Rodden finishing the season in division 2 on 72 points and 4th place and our winner, pipping her to the post is Hawks 2 Captain Jenny Russell finishing on 73 points. Jenny has been the biggest cheerleader within her squad, she’s continuously looking for opportunities to develop the players and solidify combinations whilst ensuring a strong performance is put out on the court. And if you don’t do what she’s expecting, her face will tell you (lol)!
She championed Hawks 2 to secure 3rd position in division 3 and this all down to her leadership, determination, fairness and support. Well done Jenny and Hawks 2!
