It has been quite the month at Hawks HQ…each week we have had friendlies as well as training and Fenland league matches so our ladies are well and truly back in the swing of things. After a tough couple of challenging years we have been working hard to rebuild the club and are so pleased to say we are back stronger than ever, having been able to name 3 full senior squads for the 2021/2022 season, where we will be competing in the CDNL and Fenland winter leagues. The support, motivation and positive club vibes have never been better so we are very excited for what is to come!!

The Fenland summer league has just drawn to a close finishing with a fab 2nd place for Hawks at the closing tournament. It has been a fantastic league for our newest Hawks to find their feet as well as try out combos and different partnerships for our existing players. Big round of applause to Laura who was voted the Player’s Player of the league and to Emily who was awarded the Captain and Vice-Captains Player of the league award. Both of their commitment, energy and improvement have been fantastic to watch and a joy to play with on court.

28th July saw our last training evening before the summer break which was a mixture of attacking D-feed skills work and match play, Fenland league presentation and some surprise gifts for the committee, which we were very touched to receive from our wonderful ladies!

While we are taking a break from training for August, there will still be plenty going on for the club. We have Hawks 1 and 2 friendlies against Haddenham Netball Clubs this week, a local tournament the following week and the highly anticipated Hawks Summer Party Mixed Tournament the week after, with a Bank Holiday rest before we are back for pre-season training in September.

We will still be welcoming newcomers throughout the year if you are looking for a new club or to get back on court. Visit out newcomers page for more information www.hawksnetball.co.uk/newcomers
